2013 P.F.O.V. Honorees – The Rooney Family

In 2013,  in the 10^th year anniversary of our event we recognized a family at this year’s Jimmy V CYO classic. Long-time parish members, the Rooney family were deeply affected by cancer when son Shane, while still in high school was diagnosed with cancer.  It was his sister Aileen’s bone marrow donation that ultimately saved his life.

The entire family has also been a positive force in promoting bone marrow registration, which can be a potentially life saving procedure. For all they do for our event and for the important cause to promote awareness and further research, we honor them this year.
